since everyone is bloggin bout prom, ha i shall too!
presenting: yewliang's prom post!
aha. pple from sji and a few other informative pple would obviously catch the catch in the phase above. because sji does not have any prom! or graduation dinner for that matter.
yes i repeat: no dinner.
well done sji. but then. why am i surprised? wait. im not surprised. why am i so used to this? always doing things to "stand out" from other schools. and somehow along the way managing to psycho the many josephians into having the mindset that its perfectly normal. hell you should hear the reasons for not having a dinner:
1) too expensive. seriously - i heard this. c'mon who are you joking? i think even neville longbottom(dumbest boy in the history of hogwarts) will snigger at such a joke. okay not to say the school's really rich but you can't say sji's poor can you? when students pay $150 a month, you don't really expect the school to be poor.
2) sji students will turn the place upside down. OH PLZ. which sch isn't worried about that? and u know how they solve it? they have teachers attending the event. this obviously will have a self-control effect on students. personally this is an even dumber excuse than the first.
3) by having a dinner means having to get the students to pay and thus the poor students will be left out. wow showing some maturity here. but yet - c'mon which school doesn't face such a situation? most schools pay between the 40 - 80 dollar range, and im sure our school falls within that category too. aniwae hasn't the school always had a financial scheme to help the more needy pupils within the community? if they can supply school fees for 4 years, wads a graduation dinner to them?
alright alright yewliang so yer doing those sji posts again. so sue me? curse me? cast a spell on me?
aniwae wads so great about having a prom or dinner? isn't it just so overrated by everybody? its just one night out thats all...
WRONG
so so wrong. it marks a final chapter in a school and its importance has been proven by the very fact that i haven't seen a school not having one. (imagine the suaning you get from pple who find out that yer GREAT sch does not have one)
SJI pple(cries and wails): NO WAD! where got only our school! all those neighbourhood schools oso don't have prom wad...
obviously this school transcends itself in a world of its own. (and living in a world of independent schs are king and neighbourhood schs are losers mindset) for i haven't seen a neighbourhood school not holding a prom. okay i may be wrong. for obviously i don't have contacts with every single sch in sg. so there might be that one or two other sch that doesn't have a prom or dinner, but hey that onli constitutes a meagre 1 or 2 % of the entire schooling population in singapore! and if this makes that 1 or 2% really special, then i think the sky will fall and singapore will win the world cup.
okay i mean no malice to the sch. and im beginning to love it now. it only gets better eveyday.
