oh man. i am dead. and this time - there ain't no pun intended.
okay i've slacked my butt off this time. and if there's any chance of survival - it's gonna require a miracle.
hai dun think i can even maintain my prelims score.
well so in the midst of all the frantic chaos, a plan came to my mind. and here's how it looks like.
Operation Survival
i) Finish ALL history essays by Thursday.
ii) Then TRY to finish SS
iii) On Monday, TRY to remember all history essays.
Lala. Po.

I'm warning you personally. Do not read this post. Seriously - I'm only experimenting with my writing skills. (ha what skills?)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
man u 4 - 1 middlesbrough
that kind of a score line would look pretty acceptable.
man u 1 - 4 middlesbrough
hell u think? no way? crazy? impossible?
man u have once again defied the odds. by losing by four goals to almost NUTHING.
for a moment i thought that Hasselbaink and partners had switched teams with Rooney and co.
WTF MAN. if i were a travelling fan watching from The Riverside, then i would have:
a) demanded an immediate refund of match ticket + travelling expenses
b) thrown a banana at Park Ji-Sung and hoped that it hit Rooney as well
c) felt that the soul of Graeme Souness had taken over Ferguson as the manager of United. (I don't think Newcastle fans will understand this joke)
the only consolation for man u is that they scored their 1000th premiership goal.
so back they go to Old Trafford to face Chelsea next week - and judging by the scoreline this week, it's gonna be a huge thrashing. 8 - 0 u reckon?
looking at the statistics, it seems rather hilarious. Middlesbrough attempted 7 shots, of which 4 were on target. Guess what - they scored four goals. United with 14 shots and 8 on target only made one touch the back of the net. It only goes to show two things.
1) United's woeful defending. No wonder Ferguson decided to take Ferdinand off in place of Wes Brown, who's defensive record is so woeful that even Ruud Van Nistelrooy could defend better than him. (For the record - Ferdinand cost United 29.1 million pounds)
2) United's unproductive strike force. Combining the talents of Rooney and the magical touch of Van Nistelrooy did not pay dividends today. Thus 45 million pounds down the drain. In fact it took a midfielder who is currently being charged for rape to open the scoring for United - but then again too little too late.
United were definitely seeing red today - in the form of the red hot middlesbrough. Also with this defeat, they failed to capitalise on the draw between spurs and arsenal, and the defeat charlton suffered at the hands of bolton - which could have seen united climb up to third place, behind runaway leaders Chelsea and Wigan (yes its Wigan... no need to rub yer eyes - u ain't seeing stars)
Furthermore Wigan have one game in hand - and a victory would mean that they close the gap between 1st and 2nd to six points - definitely an assailable lead by any means.
Who said Chelsea had already won the premiership?
So this brings us back to United, who were judged by many as the only real contender to prevent Chelsea from defending their title. I guess now they can only look to newly promoted Wigan as the only hope.
Newly promoted side Wigan have once again showed their calibre and strong will and determination by overcoming high flying Fulham, who had just beaten Liverpool soundly one week before, as they scored the solitary goal of the game in the 90th minute. Tyco u reckon? Well all i can say is that they seem a reminiscence of the Everton of 2004, where 1-0 seemed to be their lucky number.
Bolton leapfrogged Charlton in the tight premiership race as their solid defence once again proved decisive as they held off Charlton, who showed that they severely lacked something in their strike force when top scorer Darren Bent did not play due to injury. Captain Kevin Nolan scored the decisive goal in the 72nd minute.
Robert Pires, who suffered a backlash last week when he made an amusement of a penalty, came this time to the rescue of the gunners as his goal in the 77th minute helped Arsenal cancel out a 17th minute header by Spurs captain Ledley King.
However, this was definitely not the kind of result Arsene Wenger and his men were looking for as they struggle to gain a foothold in a season which has seen them all but concede the title to league leaders Chelsea.
Then again, looking at their dismal first half performance, one should have been happy to leave White Hart Lane with a point.
Tottenham once again showed their class and that they were true contenders for the Champions League spot but failed to finish well and thus dropped two potential points which would have seen them tied with Wigan for the 2nd spot in the league.
Chelsea rounded up a poor week with a routine performance which saw Lampard shine once again. They won 4 - 2 over a determined Blackburn and Mourinho soon hailed Lampard as "the best player in the world"
Everton followed up on a draw with leaders Chelsea last week with a win over Birmingham. This is only their second win in god-knows how many games but will do them much of a favour in helping them push out of the relegation zone.
Liverpool capped off a dismal week, which included consecutive losses to Fulham and Crystal Palace, with a 2 - 0 win at West Ham, and took some pressure off Rafael Benitez's shoulders. For once, Peter Crouch was left on the bench with the more experienced Morientes taking his place, and Captain Gerrard once again inspired his side to victory, and showed the true abilities of European champions. They need more performances like this if they are going to have any hopes of salvaging their season.
For now, its Wigan Wigan Wigan!
Conclusion? Being a sports journalist is fun.
spent my whole night watching tv. but it was worth the time.
was watching a documentary on national geographic on 911 - the planning, the execution and the aftermath.
rather detailed - it took three hours to finish the film.
well i must admit the film featured a pro-american viewpoint, which thus might be a little unreliable. but hey - we all live in a pro-american society, so yeah the pieces all make sense thus i guess.
very detailed planning into the most devastating terrorist attack in the history of the world - took 6 and a half years to prepare for the execution.
zero hour arrived - on the 11th September 2001.
the skies were clear and it was an exciting day coz voting had begun for the new mayor of new york. however, what happened next would be on such an overwhelming scale that it would alter the course of the world.
two planes crashed into the world trade centre. one into the pentagon and one into an open field in pennsylvania.
total casualty rate - 2972.
okay i don't know why i'm narrating here. but the film was definitely very touching. they showed many footages of people jumping off from the top floors whose stairways were blocked by raging infernos of fire.
indeed four years have passed since then. i rmbr my mum waking me up at around 10pm at night and i managed to witness live via cable tv the two towers collapsing into heaps of dust - leaving a mushroom cloud which triggered memories of hiroshima and nagasaki - two incidents which left a mountain of devastation, and changed the history of the world.
dejavu u think?
okay time to do work.
im drifting so much i might as well go be a sailor
slept for onli five hours today... and was really hungry throughout the day. don't know if that contributed to my drifting.
aniwae today's library session was one of the most unproductive in weeks and we ended up having drifted off to somewhere in the maldives.
okay okay. i can no longer play wheel of fortune on msn. damn mi 14 days free trial is over. well maybe if i am willing to fork out $19.99 to play for one more year... haha and it must be off my parent's credit cards too.
my maid left this morning... for home. and i don't think we're getting a new one anytime soon. that only spells bad news for the spoilt brat in me. so now my list of duties include mopping of floor, washing of dishes and cleaning of clothes.
and my mum already started to complain bout the hard word. lol then i asked her to hire another maid and she said "NO! must teach u all to be independent"...
im predicting before long she's gonna go bonkers after not having to bother about chores for a decade... so before long - tada - new maid! lol i wish.
okay okay lar! yewliang! stop acting like a spoilt brat and start working.
damn i shld have taken time off today to see her off at the airport... but owells i decidedly went to sleep.
talking about sleep. sleep is good. i bet most of u are nodding yer head right now. *nod nod*... this reminds me of noddy the plastic round round guy dat i last saw in kids central a few years ago. okay back to sleep. sleep is what i lack right now. and when u lack something u seek to replenish it.
bah im rambling.
seriously, i am tired to the extent that i could just jump down from the top of the empire state building and hit the concrete floor without feeling a single bit of uncomfort.
it is going to be 6am soon and this com would have then been turned on for eight hours. Half of the time it has blasted off music from my library of Jay Chou's songs.
therefore i conclude that it is time for me to enter into a world of my own.
last night was great. i went cycling! zhun zhun one hour of cycling around my entire neighbourhood. From Teck Whye to CCK central and to Yew Tee and back. but obviously all the slope riding and stuff has made me damn tired can't seem to move now. lethargic muscles fail to operate.
today feels like a friday.
dunno why....
well studied the whole day at jurong library with darryl... finished three essays and in between, read bout four books?
lol library mah... wad to do - all the books around u tempt u go read them.
im in lurve with history books... read books on martin luther king, the wall street crash, the cold war and on espionage (as in real historic spies)...
i was relli crazy last night.
okay i have a little question.
There was this muah chee (don't tell me you don't know what it is...). One day, while walking by the river, he saw a rock. The rock told the muah chee that if he ever sees him again, he will throw the muah chee into the river. Hence the muah chee became very afraid, and hid in a cave for a few days. Finally, one day, he came out of the cave, but bumped into the rock. So the muah chee got thrown into the river.
The question is: Why did the rock want to throw the muah chee into the river?
dunno?
still dunno?
relli dunno?
Because the rock shuang. That's why.
今天真的是想的太多了... 太久没这样了...
可能是因为老是整天沉淀在读书的环境中...
或是否认的自然形态中...
现在发现却都只是借口...
全都是因为我只会飘浮在否认的思想下...
因此而一直忽略了回到现实生活中...
老是把事情当成理所当然似的... 老是把东西延迟... 延迟...
而不敢去面对...
反而会一直只会把自己遗失在美好的梦幻世界里...
对... 的确不简单...
对... 碰到难关是必定的...
但是... 在最终...
我还是掉进了爱情悬崖...
而且跌了太深因此爬不出来...
我也下降了太快... 所以来不及踏上未来...
你的爱反复徘徊... 这样打乱了我得呼吸节拍...
可能我试着逃开... 但在最后... 还是控制不来...
我想我真的疯了... =X
today was definitely a reminiscence of the past.
but one that was filled with much more thought.
okay the plan was to go kbox - and then study. it was abruptly disrupted due to unforseen circumstances but yet we managed to go bowling!
lol okay met bel firstly and screamed at each other about stupid prelims... for a while till sonny decided to come - late as usual... and we bowled!
lol it was rather hilarious. shan't go into the details. the lane was undescribably pangsai - ball hooked even without reaching 30 feet.
therefore threw spinner all the way - lol glad still have a tit touch of it.
SPINNERS RULE THE WORLD!!!
after that we ate at teck whye, then studied at lot one - practically touring the neighbourhood.
well of coz studying like that means talking half of the time, and this time it was rather interesting.
reminiscing would be the word.
one topic was basically bel n i fighting over whose school sucked more. lol very bad leh.
there was one point which i thought made quite some sense:
one reason why we don't like our school so much iz coz of the glorious primary school days we had - something that we all miss dearly and hold so closely to our hearts.
but sonny so poor thing sit there and look on: "actually my school not as bad"... lol bo.
with the flick of an eye - ten years has passed. make us all realise that so many of us have been friends for a decade already. and considering we have only lived 16 years on earth, ten years definitely is a significant amount of time.
but what's more amazing is our ability to still hang out frequently.
many a times, when i say that im going out with my primary school friends - usually i get two responses:
1) u siao ar?
2) whoa.
it seems that its something that happens rarely... and that makes me even more proud to have been from de la salle!
okay o lvls are fast approaching... and i've been dwindling lotsa time away... better start rev-ing up my work rate.
adios!
A friend of mine introduced me to an article.
sorry andrew that happens to be you.
Click here to view it.
"FIELD STILL LEVEL FOR STUDENTS?"
interesting topic. Very highly debated on at in the press, at school and at home.
Since there are no moral strings attached to such a topic, there is much room for debate, and it will be difficult to actually come up wif a definite answer.
so putting in your two cents worth won't be considered a crime.
In the article, the reader points out that with the admission of 1600 primary school pupils into secondary schools through the Direct School Admission scheme, or 3% of the cohort, the "belief of these parents in meritocracy is being severely tested."
Of course we all know the conventional method for the placing of schools is through the results taken from national exams - PSLE, GCE O Levels... and "the previous method was objective and left little room for subjective discretion, or doub that some less deserving child was occupying our child's intended place in the school. In other words no one got the place by "pulling strings"."
"pulling strings"? that seems like a very heavy word used groundlessly.
According to dictionary.com, the definition of the word "meritocracy" goes:
"a system in which advancement is based on individual ability or achievement."
well... the reader seems to define "individual ability" simply on academic achievements. If it is so, then we are forgetting that many of the cream of Singapore's Society did not even have a chance to go to university. This is as many of them fail to sparkle academically. One example is Mr. Sim Wong Hoo - founder and chief of Creative Technology - one of Singapore's most famous brandnames. He only had a polytechnic diploma when he started off and look at where he is now.
Who and what a person is CANNOT just depend on his academic achievements alone. Not only is it morally not binding, it is also a superficial judgement, one mistake that many of us make without looking within.
People all over this world were born with different talents - some in academics of course. While others, in the field of sports they excel in; in performing etc. It is the ability to make use of one's talent to its fullest extent that makes a person excel and succeed.
Hence accepting people through sporting and artistic achievements IS accepting people through the system of meritocracy. It is "based on individual ability or achievement".
To achieve such distinctions and excellence in a particular person's chosen field takes a lot of hard work, determination and grit. And to succeed eventually is thoroughly deserved. Hence it is a good practice to award them with a place in their school of choice - just like when a person excels in his academics, he is awarded again with a school of his/her choice.
Just like the reader, i shall conclude now with:
"All of us need to be assured that meritocracy is the basis of our society".
spent a few hrs last night studyin... (wait wait... what studying? ended up playin wheel)...
ya la kp. did so little. nvm nvm.
the shittiest was having to endure only one frantic hour of sleep. ohwell i had a wonderful dream so ya lol i guess tts worth it.
haven't had wonderful dreams in a long time.
today was the official LAST day of school... gawd FINALLY!!!
had no classes - spent the entire day at the hall: "Para-Liturgy" they call it. Well its just some ceremony and ya all the blah blah yadayada stuff...
pretty much like story telling on a bigger scale? or izzit? lol seemed like it.
had a pretty senseless feeling though... (i have no idea what i just typed)
okay im goin mad.
maybe i'll just take this opportunity to blog bout the four years in SJI.
let's start off with 208/2003. Today we had to write down four names of four people who influenced your life most. and asking around Ben Tay, Calvin, Changkee, Jason - they did put Mrs. Fong down. Quite a form tutor... definitely show her a lot of respect. I'm sure the rest of the 208 guys have the same feeling about this subject. Well it was a good two years - topped off with us winning the Inter-Class Championship. well i must say the friendship made there definitely lasted to quite some extent as the six of us who made it to 406 are always together talking, chatting etc... have many more stories but summing up - definitely a very good experience.
406/2005? ha. interesting to say the least. maybe coz the experiences are fresh in my head. the class with the sportsmen, the class that produced a world champ. the class that has so many prefects + PSFs, and not to forget one of the loudest classes around.
andrew kept reminding me "do you feel lyk crying?" today. as bad as it may be, i gave him a direct reply - "no".
hmmm i read a friend's blog recently, and on it she said something which made a lot of sense.
to rephase in mi own context - well i do like my class and school... but the feeling just isn't as strong. of coz there are experiences that i enjoy, things that i'll remember, but there isn't a connection in between the physical and the mental. so of coz i do enjoy it, but not in the context of "i'm gonna miss it forever" kind.
definitely many of my schoolmates will beg to differ... looking at their msn nicks', friendster ttmls and blogs, well it only goes to show they have a very strong connection and feeling with the school. in other words - they love it.
i can't feel it though.
why am i taking the last day of school to talk about this? shldn't this be a day where everyone commemorates, celebrates and dine in joy?
well i've never really liked my school - yup things are just as simple as that.
on another note - the bowling team has always been there to enrich my schooling life and to give me a lofty goal to work at.
the graduating bowlers! yoyo we rawk! lol... yupyup!
"so you think you are some kind of superstar?"
will miss the times we trained... the times we bowled... the times of competition... the times where we fought together with a common goal...
the heartbreak at failures... the laughter at successes... the times where we looked at each other in despair when things seem to be on the losing end... and also the times when a solid strike leads to a fist-pumping and high-5s being exchanged... all are times that will definitely be etched at the back of my head for some time to come.
wad an entry. love me - hate me.
thank you to all who have played a role in shaping the school life that i have led. especially to all those who have been there to listen to my nagging and rambling when im down and out, and also to those who have stood by through everything else.
its been a long four years. and an eventful one as well.
sia la.
i almost died today.
it seems that mi "almost get run down by cars" days are back.
today while crossing the road outside Great World City... a car came rushing in the direction of my face, and thus i decided to just make it to the other end of the road.
alas! the car did not even bother to make any attempt to slow down and i came within a few centimetres of the goddamn car (well according to darryl's description)...
lol wth am i doing... actually the whole incident is my fault lar... just usually u see some idiot pedestrian anyhow crossing the road right in front of yer face you'll have some sense as to slow down a bit right? lol hai but i cant complain i guess...
shit im starting to develop phobia for roads.
roadophobia.
ahaha went glenn's house. chao hilarious can. buay tahan. his dog... forbidden speech... who's line... kao cant stop laughin can.
on another note - today's the last day of sch!!!
你说我像一个小孩 总爱让你猜
我说你才像个小孩 总要我说才明白
有些事太快 失去了等待 障碍 没了期待
我们的爱 怎么才自然 每次沟通不来
就要离开 就说不要爱
我掉进爱情悬崖跌太深爬不出来
下降的速度太快来不及踏上未来
你的爱反复徘徊打乱我的呼吸节拍
该怎么逃开 我控制不来
我掉进爱情悬崖 回想起你的可爱
傻傻的还在等待 以为你还会回来
你的脸慢慢离开时间快将我掩埋
消失的太快 我负荷不来
这首歌真的很好很好听!!!! 杰伦!!!!
不知道为什么徐若瑄写的歌词种是那么厉害...
就跟<<简单爱>>一样... 太厉害了!!!
我掉进爱情悬崖... 跌太深爬不出来... 下降的速度太快... 来不及蹋上未来...
very interesting.
seemingly i have no homework today! supposedly that is a cause for celebration, yet i don't seem to feel any adrenaline.
okay okay. this can only lead to one outcome -> the beginning of mi 2158 memorizing! woosh. exciting period of time. maybe i should do SS too... da da dee dee dum...
been going too much of PS lately. thanks to glenn + darryl lar... the two pple who i partnered for doubles and got fourth. lol. ahaha one day, its gonna be my house.
the world cup qualifiers have come to a close, and gawd was it close. France, world champs of 98' definitely showed much grit... a last minute 4-0 victory shows tt they still have the calibre of world champions. england, with so much media blitz showed guts to pull of victory after victory to secure the top place. cant wait for 2006 - Germany!
hai when can they bring it to sunny singapore?
oh man... i salute mi bro can? firstly, he's primary four this yr.
he came home late today... and mi mum just questioned him... and his explanation was that:
he went out wif a girl.
stunning.
n furthermore, mi mum suggested tt he get a handphone... so tt they can track him.
kp. i should have done tt last time.
he's gettin a lil notorious these days... better go talk to him.
in the meantime - adios!
this is an edited post.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
man i got thrashed in table tennis today. lol as if that's veri surprising...
i should stick to bowling... ahaha... man now i miss badminton... lol wth...
okay... i will TRY to finish all mi hw in the nxt 8 hours. yup im gonna study straight...
coffee is gonna be my best friend... again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the reason i decided to edit this is coz... mi blogs are getting unusually similar time and time again...
its time i BLOG!
no. 1 news (or rather new) topic of the week - undeniably - posting to JCs.
to be honest, i dun think i'll be considered as an active player in the discussion of this topic. and i have no plans to get involved... okay okay plz dun go into the DSA part... it makes mi go mad lar... eh im tryin to get in by merit k.
i will have to.
meanwhile the anti-SA campaign by 406 has resurfaced again. hoho veri interesting affairs.
yaya the CJ talk la la... well i have had friends asking mi where to go and mi answer always ends with "ultimately its your choice"... and hence i will TRY to erase all criticisms of CJC i have in my mind coz well guys - its yer choice right? enjoy yer time there... really... i'm sure u guys will... just lyk u all have in SJI.
SAJC! woohoo... okay okay. im so darn proud im going there!! *LIFTS HEAD HIGH* *STRUTS IN MAD LAUGHTER*!!! okay im gonna promote SA now.
Firstly they have super duper nice uniform!!! (envious right?)
Secondly we have pop superstars!! woo r u a yanzi fan? or a JJ fan? Junyang fan? well they all come from SAJC!!!
Thirdly we have the best bowling team in singapore!!!! well schools' bowling team dat is. WAHHHHHH bowling rawks man! SAJC Bowling Team = Champs!
Of course SAJC ahaha has so mani mani mani more positive points... but listing them all would take forever. so i'll just pick one more out.
SAJC is better than CJC!! ahaha sorry but i must do this. of course when many pple make this generalised comparism they often do it in terms of studies. and i've heard enuff crap in sch to make mi wanna spit it all out on mi blog!
SA's entry score - 9 & 11. CJ's entry - 15 & 16.
SA is ranked 8th - behind RJ HC VJ TJ AJ NJ AC.
CJ? ahaha if i say out i scared pple will be frightened of goin CJ liao. so i wun... just not as good as many pple in mi sch think of it to be.
i would like to extend my fullest apologies to those who i might have made unhappy in the above comment. however they were only facts that were extracted from MOE's web.
its time to end this topic. well all i can say now is never let the institution u attend carve out who you are - YOU carve out who you are.
Ultimate, it's your choice.
another topic that is hot in the news recently are the prelim results. (damn why must everithing be related to studies?) some pple performed above expectations, some below. many felt many didn't deserve their marks - whether it is higher or lower, all for a variety of reasons.
i once heard a quote from somewhere that made a lot of sense - "what our eyes sees, and our ears hear, our mind believes. However, most of it is just an illusion"
to put it simply - things are not always as superficial as many might seem to be.
i hope u all get what im trying to say.
recently the SJI Bowling Team was awarded the South Zone Team Award for finish 2nd and 3rd in the B Div and C Div nationals respectively. it's been another good year for the team and we have made remarkable progress, both on and off the lanes.
The team spirit has definitely improved, and so have many bowlers. The new secondary one batch shine with potential, and the secondary four batch leave with lots of experience embedded in them.
We have had a new teacher on board, and have moved closer in our dream to become national champions. It was a close shave during the Secondary Schools' League where SJI, having been tied on points with ACSi, lost out only on pinfall difference. Definitely an applaudable effort - for the fact that Lionel wasn't even on the winning team.
Again, Lionel brought home the masters title and brought much glory to the school.
SJI Bowlers also made huge impacts on other tournaments, like the National Age Group Championships.
Meanwhile, off the lanes, many advances were also made. We held our first ever overnight camp at Downtown East in December (3D2N), and are going to have another one in conjunction with the Milo International Junior All Stars in Kuala Lumpur in December this year for 8D7N.
It's been an honour serving as captain of a team that has garnered so much respect from our peers in the bowling circle. now that honour is with javier, and it is with much hope that he will bring the team to greater heights!
that was quite a post. time to study!
well for those of you who knew... i got back my prelims today.
prelims know! wah lau. all those 6am days and all those ya 6am days. ahaha can't think of other examples. today all those work will be judged if successful or not.
success? ya in some ways. but failure too was present.
so probably its time for an evaluation.
both sciences came and both resulted in C5s. physics well figured i worked hard for the whole yr so din relli study much of it. as in during the pre-prelims period. the mcq part was surprisingly well done but section B was well not up to expectations. so ya it shows i needa buck up mi physics. chemistry was well better dan expected (expected to fail)... ahaha sumhow scrapped through. well i must say behind 2158, chem was the nxt hardest sub i worked for, and well i did manage to convert a fail to a pass, but still the results r not matching up to the time put in. OKAY MORE WORK!!!
humanities was quite a pleasant surprise. history got a B3 while lit elective got an A2. ahaha 2158 i surprisingly needa work on mi part Is. mi part IIs seem to be improving. but ya chow did brilliantly and for that i hafta salute him! lit elective, the SS part wasn't as well done as i wanted it, mi essays only got 16, so ya needa work on mi RI and BC parts. luckily lit saved mi with a 20 for mi essay! ahaha lovin it. but that was tyco lar so ya must work on lit too... esp on quotes and poetry... well more practice lor.
emaths was another pleasant surprise. got 85%!!! ahaha dunno how i got so high one. but believe it or not - that's third highest in class only. ahaha. i guess the shocking 15/50 for the emaths test i got in class relli woke mi up. amaths was relli unlucky. got many marks minused for stupid stuff lyk 3 s.f. and stuff lyk dat... and dere was one qn where i had to diferentiate and quotient rule uses the minus sign, but i ended up using the plus sign, and for that the rest of the qn were all wrong. so ya i got an unlucky 69 which ya is a B3 but damn shld have gotten A1... ohwell need work in this area. relli do. esp trigo. and ya actually mani topics oso need work. ohwell i need mi Amaths lar! impt sub.
languages(english to be exact)... i dunno how to describe. happy that i got a B3 - 68, but then well it didn't seem to be very well done. i can't believe mi compre onli got freaking 13/25, and it was this that prevented mi A lar. well glad i picked the right essay qn so quite lucky there - for a mediocre essay got a 20... ahaha. ya but this only goes to show mi english needs to buck up! badly. another impt sub. wait compulsory sub. ya that's more accurate.
so i guess that's it. performed better dan i expected... ahaha then i came home to hao lian to mi parents and they kap pei-ed mi. well done yew liang ahaha. aiya nvm lar its been a long three months suffering since mid yr.
13 pts. lucky or unlucky number? u decide. aniwaes its SA for first three months and hopefully you reading mi blog will go there too! good place.
ya i must say that many people did well, while some didn't. although overall as a class we did improve much, but there's more work to be done! full steam ahead! =)
it's the battle of champions.
chelsea, champions of the premiership
vs.
liverpool, champions of europe.
gawd i dreamt of the match last night - and dreamt that chelsea thrashed liverpool 6-1.
its now halftime and chelsea leads 2-1. let's pray that the dream does not come true.
champions are made of heart and soul, and not of money. go liverpool!!!
this is gonna be a long post. so dun say i didn't warn you.
now did i just warn you that it was gonna be long?
okay gonna blog half english half chinese. so plz change to unicode if u want to see chinese characters instead of dunno wad half japanese half korean half indian characters. now wait that's 150%... okay nvm.
哈哈哈哈... okay. 今天还真是累... 星期六还得六点起床... 真是的...
ya darn had to reach barker at a ridiculously early timing. well at least it was in the hope that there would be an interesting talk waiting for us. 哈哈 interesting? we'll see.
so ya signed in but due to the large amounts of sji bowlers present... it was a lil troublesome... but still quite okay lar. haha haven't seen mi swl partner for months.
okay so it finally started after a short delay... with ng eng chin n jessie phua making short n consized speeches. jessie phua was damn bhb lar. 受不了... 真是自傲!!!
then came the blardy sid allen and his olympics dreams and bowling revolution speech. darn it took double the time stipulated and he only realised when he finally took a look at his watch when he was 25 mins overdue. but surprisingly din fall zzzZZZ.
break break break. gawd have more breaks!!! okay so ya came back had stupid lane talks blah blah and some mental talk which din relli go in. den came brad angelo. ahaha wad a joke.
now Mr. Angelo is a PBA bowler. n he comes up and tells everibody that his bowling style is wrong... wad dun learn from him... wad crap. crap crap. ahaha but quite ridiculously farnie.
rick benoit also came up and i wanted to pop him a qn: "u seem to share the same surname as a WWE wrestler... is there any connection inbetween?"... but of course that was a dumb qn and to save mi face i guess it was smarter not to say it.
Q&A was rather okay lar. last part... new hui fen went up: "wad do you think about spinners?"... ahaha dat was freaking interesting k. well at least im interested. SPINNERS RAWK!!! RAWK RAWK!!!
so dat sums up mi veri brief outline of the seminar in the morning. trust me that was supposed to be brief.
went tong's house and played pool and lost terribly. wanted to sleep but wif one raelene tang screaming at her top of her voice: "WHY IS Zinc 2+ and 3+???? which one issit????"... how to? she asked a whole load of other dumb qns too lyk: "WHY IS SO4 2-?" .... kp how to answer sia.
walked to tanglin and ate before entering school LATE. but then everione was late too so ahaha no one gave a freaking shit. tried to sleep in class but then again failed. again. yea its not tt easy to slp u know.
almost had a terrible headache but sumhow it went away... possibly the airconditioning of the hall soothened it.
the events that followed will forever be carved in the centre of my mind in ways more than one.
so sing sing then pray. usual right? nxt was parent's opening of the letter we wrote to them. okay i hafta admit got tears well up in my eyes... a little lar. coz thinking through the content which i wrote and suddenly it was yah. shant elaborate.
den lui's speech was all so usual and planned. WOW i got mentioned. ahaha "Wong Yew Liang"... but no lar credit relli goes to the entire team. shall elaborate on this later.
sing sing again... and guess wad... the guest of honour was next.
u know who he is? "Mr Lee Tai Yang"... yes yer thinking wad im thinking. its 太阳... ahahaha laugh... well know who he is? just admit it... you dont. but dun worry. i don't too.
but he's great. relli he is. coz our Mr. 太阳 soon embarked on a journey no one has ever gone before. which is to break mr. Lui's record ten times over, and set a new record for longest speech ever made in the history of this school - 1 hr in excess!
yup you r not blind. yer eyes are working in perfect order. one hour! that's 60 mins! that's 3600 seconds!!! gawd he think he making national day rally ar.
dun think one hour is short just coz the number one is a small number... its damn freaking long.
his start was pretty normal. but soon it developed into a verbal autobiography of his life. (in sji that is)... started talking bout his first day in school and that itself took bout 5 - 10 mins. soon started bout his first term and that took half an hour. second term was a lil shorter but ran longer than 10 mins.
u think he had enuff? one thing to note - Mr. 太阳 studied for three years in sji!!!
one extract of his speech:
"For my dinner... i used to go to this place where they sold the cheapest dinner! at 70 cents! you could have a full plate stuff on it with a choice of either chicken or char siew! do you all know wad is char siew?"
"For my lunch... i used to go to this place near my school where they sold the chepest lunch! at 50 cents! but i had to rush as usually by the time i reached the place it was already starting to close down and the cleaners would then be spraying water all around mi while i was eating."
"For my breakfast..." (the audience breaks out into a intriguing and half frustrated half laughing lyk crazy sign of protest)
ya so u think he decided to stop? no. he just changed the damn topic.
one more extract:
(after bout 50 mins)
"So that was 1956. but due to time constraints i will not go into the details of 57"
if at that point u din feel lyk whacking the man and leaving a scar on his face for life... well you have great patience my friend.
but Mr. 太阳 got the loudest applause of the night when he finally decided to stop. that i wonder why.
and with that everione finally could say that they'd survive hell on earth.
cerificates soon and ya got mi certs and stuff... boring lar.
wad was interesting was after that. calvin lim zhi yang, a class mate since sec 1.
sportsman of the year. (or issit sportsboy?)... ahaha. okay lar shall be good and dedicate a little column to him
i think many need a little bit of background on him.
firstly. wads the big deal?
okay a national sailor since a tender age, he has had success on both the national and the international scene in the byte class.
His major breakthrough came when he represented singapore in the Byte CII Euro Cup in Lake Iseo, Italy in June 2004. Having put the title away by the second last race, he didn't even have to sail in the last race... "but will do so which says a lot for the attitude of the Singapore sailors and their Hungarian Coach Andras." - quoted from scuttlebutteurope.com
He then went on to compete in the World Byte Championships in Ontario Canada. "The 2004 Byte World Championship was the biggest as well as the most competitive championship ever and it seems appropriate that all was decided on the last day of racing. The final three races were enough for Calvin Zhi Yang Lim of Singapore to take over the lead and become the 2004 Byte World Champion and Byte World Youth Champion. Calvin's consistency throughout the event was truly remarkable. He won the Qualifying Series and scored no lower than ninth in the Gold Fleet." - quoted from asianyachting.com
in the 2004 Byte Class Awards, the award of Male Sailor of the Year went to you know who. ya so i think i should put a full stop here coz its starting to sound a little quirky.
well actually all that information came from an easy web search. ahaha many might think why i just did all that... well just a little tribute to a classmate of mine for 4 years now, and ya hopefully we'll see you in the olympics.
u know when alfred nathan said that, everibody just laughed. wonder if that signifies anithing.
and then ahaha came quite a hilarious moment. they were presenting the trophy and it was quite a silent moment... guess no one thought of saying anithing and it was a lil awkward in a sense... so i just blurted out: "wah so zai ar" and everione turned and the attention shifted from mr. dimples to mi... ahaha fun fun must do it again sometime.
moving on... gave out other awards which i dun relli have much comments over.
of coz how can we not have a class dinner... so went to p.s. swensens... and wasted quite some time intially coz of a lack of tables for 25 pple... ahaha... well tt's quite expected aniwae.
so reached home onli at midnight... oh ya happy birthday cindy! and to all mi five friends too who so nicely have their birthday on children's day.
so its graduation. graduated! wow. fast but yet not so fast. gd but yet not so bad. or izzit the other way round. ohwell u decide.
its been quite an enriching four yrs lar i must admit. 208/03! din we just rawk the sports scene or wad. inter class champs!!! zai kia. and farmer fong and everithing else just make those times memorable.
406/05!! another class which simply rawks the sports scene. captains in almost everithing! ahaha... damn farnie. hmmm been quite lucky to have been in sports' classes for all mi four years of sji. well there are definitely super hilarious and hard to forget moments and im sure i'll never forget them.
bowlers! dun we just rawk or wad. okay bhb. but then ahaha we shan't hide the truth! since there r no golds this yr in the bdiv, then that makes us the most successful sport in the b division in sji!!! ahaha cool bo. all those times we almost dethroned acsi who just din wanna buldge (credit given to them too)... esp. stupid darn secondary schools league which was deservedly sji's. but all those times... i relli will miss them badly. well some of us are going to the same jc, and hopefully we can bring the same spirit wif us over there, which would then give us another chance to dethrone acsi. ahaha. well i dun think i can finish saying everithing in one para... but ya i think most of u get wad im tryin to say and ya i cant wait for milo!!!!
friends made in sji, especially close ones have been hard to come. glad to have spent such great experiences with each and everione and it's been a great journey.
almost at the end. almost. just feel it! right in the grasp of your palm. u either reach out hard enuff now and grab it, or...
lose it forever.
这一次还有谁... 能够陪在身边不会累... 让我唯一的梦想... 不会再一次轻易破碎... 不会后悔... 做好准备... 只有前近没有后退...
=)
